Summer Nail care

Like the sun, tanning beds emit the UV rays UV A, UV B, and UV C. The UV A form is the most detrimental, with the UV B variety being only slightly less harmful.

Many people today are taking advantage of the technology that we have available. Many of us use things like PDA's, iPods, voice-dial cell phones, and even litter boxes that empty themselves.
We use all of these wonderful products to make our daily living a little less hectic, and to be as efficient as we possibly can. Into this group one can also place the tanning bed.

The Tanning Industry

The tanning industry has evolved from a being a single bed in the corner of a gym, to full tanning salons offering full lines of products as well as many amenities you would normally find at a health spa type of establishment.
At the time of the industry's birth, I myself wondered why someone would pay their hard earned money for something that they get for free, but then again look at the bottled water industry.
I myself don't tan regularly in a bed or bake myself in the harsh rays of the sun. I am fortunate that I am already olive skinned (thanks, Dad!), and don't have to make the special effort to have a nice skin tone. There are tons of people that do tan, and for some very good reasons.

I am here to give some insightful information about the both the risks and the benefits of tanning beds for those of you who use them on a regular basis. The truth of the matter is that all too often the lure of practicality and convenience take precedence in a decision, and the rationality of it is lost.

Benefits Of Tanning Beds

Tanning beds offer prospective users many benefits. Tanning in a tanning bed is, first of all, much more time efficient than using the huge nuclear reactor we call the sun.

Most of the people that I have known who tanned spent no more than about twenty minutes at a time in a bed. Those using our natural source for a tan may spend more than an hour at a time in search of that perfect copper tan.

A Typical Tanning Bed.
A tanning bed also offers to the baked less radiation and significantly reduced ultraviolent rays. What many of the natural tanners don't realize is that the rays from the sun are radiation similar to that of any radioactive isotope.
The radiation pierces through your skin, and then physically changes your very own DNA into a mutant form, which often times causes you to develop skin cancer. Even though tanning beds are safer in terms of negative possibilities, tanning beds do still bring some consequences.
The staff of the particular salon should advise you about the maximum exposure time for the particular device you will use, the operation of emergency shut off controls, the requirement for protective eyewear, and the location of personal hygiene facilities.
Tanning bed surfaces and eyewear must be sanitized after each use. I have known more than a few people who left the salon with crabs due to poor sanitation. Ouch!

Risks Of Tanning Beds

There are risks associated to overexposure to the ultraviolent lights of tanning beds and booths. Like the sun, tanning beds emit the UV rays UV A, UV B, and UV C.
The UV-A form is the most detrimental, with the UV-B variety being only slightly less harmful. These are the components responsible for exciting the skin and leading to an increase in melanin, which it the black pigment responsible for a darker complexion. The primary reason that a tanning bed is safer than the sun is that the bed is operated and controlled by humans.

The other major detriment to tanning is the fact that tanning leads to premature aging. This happens because of the drying effect caused by regular tanning. The oils and moisture in your skin is what is responsible for your skin's elasticity. If these natural moisturizers aren't present then neither is the skin's ability to retract wrinkle free.

Precautions

For most people, a tanning bed is the best solution to the sunshine. Not having a tan, for most people, is more of a risk in the long run than having no tan at all. Studies do tell us that the positive effects of tanning outweigh the risks by practicing smart, moderate tanning.
To tan intelligently you should use indoor lotion, never burn, use post tan moisturizers, and always wear protective eyewear. You should also know your skin type, and what type of exposure your skin type is suited for. If you are unsure of this you should consult your physician.
You should also always tan with a lotion recommended by your salon for the type of bulb they use, most salons put their staff through a certification program to ensure competence, and it is even law in some states.

Heat Affects Your Body

Common Sense is the Best Defense:
-Spend some time in air conditioning, if possible. Even just two hours a day in air conditioning   can significantly reduce the risk of heat-related illness. If air conditioning is not available,   stay on the lowest floor, out of the sunshine. Try to go to a public building with air   conditioning each day for several hours. Remember, electric fans do not cool the air, but   they do help sweat evaporate, which cools your body.

-Drink plenty of water and natural juices, even if you don't feel thirsty.

-Slow down. Avoid strenuous activity. If you must do strenuous activity, do it during the
coolest part of the day, which is usually in the morning between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.

-Wear loose-fitting, lightweight, light-colored clothing. Light colors will reflect away some of
  the sun's energy.

-Avoid going out in the blazing heat, if you can.

-If you must be out in the sun, use sunscreen and wear a wide-brimmed hat.

-Keep shades drawn and blinds closed, but windows open slightly.

-Keep lights down low or turned off.

-Take cool baths or showers periodically, use cool wet towels.

-Eat small meals and eat more often. Avoid foods that are high in protein, which increase metabolic heat.

-Avoid using the oven.

-Avoid alcoholic beverages and beverages with caffeine such as coffee, tea and cola. They can make you feel good briefly, but make the heat's effects on your body worse. This is especially true about beer, which dehydrates the body.

-Avoid using salt tablets unless directed to do so by a physician.

Lip gloss is the “go-to” makeup that every woman and girl alike should have an abundance of. Lip gloss can be used by beginners up to the professionals. The beauty of it is that there is no right or wrong way to wear lip gloss!
If you like to go natural, that’s perfect. Applying a little lip gloss is very easy to do and you don’t even need a mirror to put it on. Most lip glosses are sheer and can add just a hint of color to dress you up. With very little effort, you can look like you are ready for a night on the town.

Are you a makeup lover? Then you probably already know all about the benefits of lip gloss. It can be worn alone, with a lip liner, or over lipstick. Each way giving you lips a completely different look. There are the glitter glosses and the sheer color glosses, each one having a different effect on how the light plays off of your lips.
One rule of thumb when it comes to lips and eyes is that if you are going to go dramatic with you eyes, you should do more of a neutral color for your lips. It’s the exact opposite if you want to draw attention to your lips, make sure to keep your eyes a little bit on the softer side. Don’t want to look too made up! Lip gloss can compliment ANY look you are going for.
My two favorite brands of lip gloss are:
* Victoria’s Secret’s Beauty Rush Lip Gloss
* Bath and Body Works Liplicious Lip Gloss

Many lip glosses, even from expensive department stores, as I have found look good for a little while, then end up drying your lips out even more than when you began. I like a lip gloss to have three critical components:
1. Looks Good
2. Tastes Good
3. It Moisturises
If it has all three of those, I am willing to pay a little more because I know I’ll be getting quality lip gloss. You know it’s a good one if you can put it on before you go to bed and wake up the next morning with soft lips! I do it all the time. You can purchase the lip gloss tubes from either store from between $4.00 up to $8.00 depending if you get it on sale or not.

Fashion Sense

Choosing the right fashion for oneself is a pretty complicated matter. In fact, it can be compared to some of the more complicated things in life. The term clothing can be attached to a wide range of things including apparel. From clothes to various accessories, alltogether are termed as clothing.
But deciding on the best fashion for oneself isn't all that difficult. With a little planning and such, one can get a whole new look - your own makeover. As Yves Saint Laurent rightly points out, 'Fashions fade, style is eternal', one should try to cater more to the styles than the current fads and fallacies.

Quality and Durabilty

Though fashion keeps changing now and then, there are certain qualities that are certain things that remain untouched - Quality and Durability. It isn't always necessary that one will get these advantages only in ultra-expensive apparel stores, but expensive clothes are more often of high quality and durability. One has to be very lucky to get quality clothing from sales and non-branded retailers.
Also, branded clothiers and retailers have taken care to keep the people who accuse them of daylight robbery at bay. The cut and feel of expensive clothes are vastly better than economical clothes. Also, the designs, fittings and patterns of these expensive clothes are better than economical clothes.
Therefore, it is always suggested to invest a proper amount into a small sized branded wardrobe than a huge non branded wardrobe. Also, to quote Giorgio Armani, 'The difference between style and fashion is quality'.

What and When

To decide what fashion is best for oneself, one should first think about your profession, lifestyle and social standing in life. However, breaking the rules and being a rebel has its own charm and excitement too. For example, someone turning up to a board meeting in rag tag jeans and a Bahamas beach shirt can mean many things - either they own the company, their next job is all set, or they don't actually care getting a sack letter soon.
But seriously, choosing the right fashion would also depend on the occasion. A business meeting would require something entirely different than a casual beach shack hangout.
The change evident in a man when he wears a good quality suit is legendary. Sharply cut dresses for a woman also changes her entire being for the moment. People of short stature should stay away from prints, because it makes them seem shorter than they already are.

Essentials

To cut a long story short, there are five super-essentials in anyone's wardrobes. A basic pair of black pants is very essential. Some may think that black pants are just necessary for an office working person, but it isn't so. One should see black pants topped with a Zod shirt on the disco circuit.
Jeans speak for themselves. The best thing about jeans is that they can be worn under anything, and that does mean anything. T shirts, full sleeved shirts, denim shirts, prints, blocks, shades, anything.
Handbags have today become an important accessory for women. Handbags are also a fashion statement by themselves. Handmade handbags are the current rage, apart from the ultra expensive designer bags various celebrities carry.

With summer just around the corner you've probably been through your wardrobe and dusted down your summer clothes but what about your make-up bag? Now is the prefect time to give it a summer makeover.
1. Essential protection
Protect your skin from damage this summer by using a moisturiser with an SPF factor of 15 or higher. Use it daily and you'll help to combat those early signs of aging such as sun spots and fine lines. Remember that you'll be exposed to harmful UVA and UVB rays even on a cloudy day. Apply your SPF moisturiser to a clean face and allow 10 minutes for it to absorb before applying your foundation.
2. Lighten up
When the warm weather hits you might find that foundation and powder feels too heavy on your skin. For a fresher, lighter look switch to a tinted moisturiser, apply with a damp sponge and you'll be sure to get an even look. A little concealer dabbed under the eye will give added radiance.
3. Fake it
a woman applying bronzerOn a lovely summer's day there is nothing better than the appearance of a healthy glow to make you feel better, and one of the easiest ways of achieving this is with bronzing powder. If you're worried that you'll choose the wrong shade of bronzer and end up looking orange instead of sun-kissed, Colour Me Beautiful has a range of shades that have been specifically created to suit your skin tone.
4. The eyes have it
a woman applying eye make-upEye shadows in lighter, neutral shades are perfect for the summer. If it's really hot and you don't want to go to the effort of applying a full make-up, a touch of mascara and a little eye liner will 'open' up the eye and bring your face to life. For a lighter, more summery appearance, swap your black mascara for one that is either brown-black or brown. To complete your look remember to have your eyebrows professionally shaped.
5. Essential waterproofing
There is nothing worse than running mascara, so if you're planning a beach holiday or going to a wedding, consider your choice of mascara with care. Waterproof mascara is great, but you'll probably need an oil-based eye make-up remover to take it off properly so that you don't get an unsightly build-up. If you don't want the hassle, it's worth getting your eyelashes professionally tinted. If you're particularly fair and have very light eyebrows it's worth getting them dyed too.
